Kevin Wood to Release 3rd Studio Album on Valentines Day

Long Beach Multi-Genre Music Artist and Former RENT National Tour Star Kevin Wood to Release Third Studio Album Out Among the Wolves

Long Beach, Calif. – Multi-genre music artist and former RENT national tour star Kevin Wood has announced the upcoming February 14 release of his third full-length studio album Out Among the Wolves. Alicia Champion of Durga Sound produced the album, which includes a duet with San Diego indie icon Danielle LoPresti

Kevin’s previous albums include Finding Me (2006) and Haven't Had Enough (2002). His music video “Make it in LA” won best video by RightOutTV, with his music nominated in five categories.

The album’s tracks include the inspirational and empowering “Today;” the fun and open “Hopeless Romantic;” steamy club number “Garden of Eden;” LoPresti duet power ballad “I Wanna Know;” the flirtatious and driving up-tempo “Not a Song;” harmonious pop tune “Falling Away;” the melodic and uplifting “Edge of Greatness;” the mellow, melancholy “Fuzzy;” the Tori-esque riff-laden breakup song “House is Burning Down;” the soulful moving-on song “Too Many Questions;” the harmony-filled questions in “What are We Supposed to Expect;” and the upbeat, live-in-the-moment “One Time Around.”

"My music spans many genres, but overall I try to be truthful to the moment when I'm writing," said Wood. "I'm not afraid to talk about the guy I have a crush on or use the ‘he’ pronoun in my songs. It's time the music industry opened their arms to more out musicians."

Kevin’s provocative, cutting edge music video of Wolves song Garden of Eden was released on Thanksgiving Day, and numerous Long Beach clubs have aired the video. The CD release party is scheduled for February 1 at 7pm at Paradise Piano Bar located on Alamitos Beach’s Broadway strip. Kevin will be at the venue’s grand piano, playing and singing his original music for invited guests, local fans and the media.

Originally from Cody, Wyoming, Kevin moved to Long Beach after traveling the US and Canada with the national tour of the Broadway hit RENT. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Kevin has performed on stage in Musical Theatre West’s Wedding Singer, Stages Theatre’s Bat Boy, as well as with The Orange County’s Gay Men’s Chorus MenAlive and at Downtown Disney with the a cappella group WestBeat. Kevin also traveled the open seas with Holland America’s ms Westerdam, where he worked as the ship’s lead male singer.

Kevin performs throughout Long Beach and Southern California including locals’ night at Whole Foods Market, Paradise Piano Bar, Library Coffeehouse, Café Ambrosia, Velvet Lounge, Harbor Area Farmers Markets, Long Beach Pride Festival, and San Diego Pride Festival. In August 2013, Kevin performed with his band at the San Diego IndieFest, where also shared the stage with openly gay country star Steve Grand
